Major General Michael Symanski
Major General Michael Symanski retired after 37 years of service in the Active, Guard and Reserve of the U.S. Army. He commanded within the Army Reserve at the 89th Reserve Readiness Command, 3d COSCOM and 21st TAACOM. He was on active duty in the Pentagon in the Department of the Army G-3/5/7. Symanski mobilized and deployed as the Deputy Commander of the 21st TAACOM Forward during Operation Joint Endeavor, and commanded a quartermaster battalion during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. After retirement, he was the Senior Mentor to the Afghan General Staff and Ministry of Defense for strategy and policy, and national military logistics. He has a BA and MA in History and Political Science from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. Symanski has published several articles on strategy and leadership. He lives in Overland Park, KS.
